For the year 2020, the window for the Parents and Grandparents Program will open from October 13 to November 3. During this time frame, the Canadian citizens and permanent residents can file for the PGP program by submitting an interest to sponsor. After all the applications will be submitted, there will be a random selection of applicants by the Immigration Refugee Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
The IRCC will
hold a lottery and select candidates for sponsorship applications. These
applicants will be allowed to bring their parents and grandparents to Canada.
IRCC has set a target of 10,000 applications for the 2020 PGP Program.
