Canada rated as the best country for Immigrants

In a recent survey of Gallup, an analytics and advisory company based in the U.S., Canada is rated as the most accepting country for migrants in the world.  The results are calculated as per the wide-scale public opinion poll in 2019 in which 145 countries were selected for the survey and 1000 people from each country were analyzed in a face to face interview.

 

For the evaluation, a scorecard of 0 to 9 range was created. The high scoring countries were most acceptable, and low scoring was least acceptable for immigrants. In the survey, Canada scored the maximum points of 8.46 points on Gallup’s Migrant Acceptance Index. The Sixth position was held by the U.S. with an overall score of 7.95

 

Canada and the U.S. both have changed the immigration policies, and both have them have inculcated changes that have made the countries friendlier than before.

 

Since 2017, the ranking of both countries has witnessed an Increased. Canada moves from the fourth position to the first position, and the USA moved from Ninth Position to the sixth one.  However, the immigration policies of both countries are different from one another. They have taken measures to make their nation more accepting than before. In a progressive effort, Canada has tried to improve the immigration levels, and the USA has tried to reduce it.

 

Political Links with Immigration

There is a connection between Immigration and Politics. this can be understood with the following example, people who vote for Trump as President were less accepting of migrants, and in Canada, who approved of Trudeau were more accepting of migrants

 

Further age also has a different effect on both countries. The USA doesn’t have a good track record of immigrants with over 65 years of age.  While in Canada, there is no such indication.
